A Comparative Biomechanical Analysis of Topspin Forehand against Topspin and Backspin in Table Tennis

چکیده

The topspin forehand is the most frequent and effective shot in top-level table tennis matches. present study assesses biomechanical differences stroke technique when incoming ball different rotations. Eight national level-1 male athletes (176.6 ± 4.8 cm, 70.8 6.6 kg, 20.9 2.4 yr) performed two kinds of techniques—topspin strokes against (AT) backspin (AB) balls, respectively. kinematic parameters their bodies rackets were calculated. Meanwhile, force plates analyzed lower limb moments through inverse dynamics. Paired t-test non-parametric paired mapping used to assess between conditions. Their center gravity (COG) vertical distance, elbow flexion, thorax–pelvis knee flexion angles had significant during phase (p < 0.05). moment racket-side hip rotation ankle dorsiflexion showed racket velocity, angle, trajectories at characteristic This revealed techniques tennis, even though movements look similar. Compared with AT strokes, kept a straight than they did AB strokes. They increased distance trajectory velocity meet backspin, especially direction. detailed information necessary for beginners improve efficiency technique, balls

Trunk and upper limb muscle activation during flat and topspin forehand drives in young tennis players.

This study compared EMG activity of young tennis players' muscles during forehand drives in two groups, GD-those able to raise by more than 150% the vertical velocity of racket-face at impact from flat to topspin forehand drives, and GND, those not able to increase their vertical velocity to the same extent. Upper limb joint angles, racket-face velocities, and average EMGrms values, were studie...

Kinematics of table tennis topspin forehands: effects of performance level and ball spin.

The purpose of this study was to investigate whether performance level and ball spin affect arm and racket kinematics of the table tennis topspin forehand. Nine advanced and eight intermediate male table tennis players hit topspin forehands against light and heavy backspins. Five high-speed video cameras were used to record their strokes at 200 fps. Contributions of joint rotations to the racke...

Analysis of Kinetic Chain Mechanism Affecting Energy Flow in Kick Topspin Tennis Serve in Elite and Amateur Tennis Players

Background. Effective kick-topspin serving in tennis requires power to transfer mechanical energy through a kinematic chain from different parts of the body that is directly related to the kinetics of the joints. Energy flow analysis is a powerful tool for observing the mechanical energy transfer through the body parts. Objectives. This research aimed to study the correlation and predictive ab...

Effect of the racket mass and the rate of strokes on kinematics and kinetics in the table tennis topspin backhand.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the racket mass and the rate of strokes on the kinematics and kinetics of the trunk and the racket arm in the table tennis topspin backhand. Eight male Division I collegiate table tennis players hit topspin backhands against topspin balls projected at 75 balls · min(-1) and 35 balls · min(-1) using three rackets varying in mass of 153.5...
